Our Mission
On September 18, 2006, the Pichon family suffered a devastating tragedy when 14-year old Christopher II passed away from an unknown heart condition. Family and friends in excess of two thousand gathered for his Home-going Celebration.
Christopher II was a young, fun-loving leader and humanitarian. He was President of the Texas affiliation of the Junior Knights of Peter Claver (KPC), a member of The Gents Organization at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston ISD, and a member of the Altar Server Ministry and Ambassdors for Christ at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Chris was dedicated to volunteerism and service to others, especially the less fortunate.
Family and friends loved Chris dearly. He left an awesome legacy as there are now two KPC awards named after him–Most Outstanding Jr. Knight at the junior level, and Most Devoted Commander at the senior level. Christopher’s name is also attached to the 2007 Texas bill that requires all Texas schools to have defibrillators, as well as conduct heart screenings for student athletes beginning in Grade 6.
In addition, the Pichon Family created this foundation in order to conduct free community health fairs to provide preventive health care information for parents, especially of marginal income.
Seemingly, Christopher Pichon II’s presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit will continue to live within everyone whose life he touched, and the lives touched by his foundation’s efforts.
